The Friends of the University of Hawaii Cancer Center invites you to join us in our third annual fundraiser to support the UH Cancer Center’s summer internship program. Our fundraiser event will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Ferguson’s Pub at the Dillingham Transportation Building.
The summer internship program is an important way that the UH Cancer Center does educational outreach in our community. By spending eight weeks working at the UH Cancer Center, local high school and undergraduate students are mentored by cancer researchers as they undertake a research project of their own.
Over the last two summers, the Friends have supported ten interns with stipends each summer. We hope to do so at least the same this year again with your support and help. Through the summer internship program, many have decided to pursue an education in medicine, science or public help, especially with a focus on cancer research.
Please support our event this year. As always, we promise a fun event with great food and wine along with an informative program.
